A special assistant to Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa identified as Samson Nwachukwu, was recently assaulted by an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Oyogist reports.
In series of clips shared by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the officer slapped Nwachukwu as he repeatedly questioned who he was.
It was gathered that the incident occurred along Benin/Agbor Expressway.
Harrison, who shared the update on his official social media pages wrote;
NWACHUKWU, who is also a volunteer for Behind Bars, “never retaliated but endured the pain”.
“We will protest this assault till the Authority discipline these men.
“We are shutting down that expressway to demand Justice. We want to know his crime. #EndBrutality.”
Efforts by Oyogist to reach Nwachukwu’s representative proved futile as at the time of filing this report.
