Oyogist has learned that David Bennett, aged 57 has become the first man to receive the heart of a pig via transplant.
Bennett’s heart was replaced with that of a pig by medical practitioners in Baltimore MD Last week.
Pigs are About the closest animals to humans anatomically, their internal organs with adjustments made for age- are nearly exactly the same size as humans.
Benet received the heart from a pig that was genetically modified to remove genes which might have led to organ rejection after the transplant.
