Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, aka Wizkid has set a new record on the Billboard World Album charts, Oyogist.com reports.
According to information available on the Billboard Music website, Wizkid’s album, ‘Made in Lagos’ has become the first Nigerian album to spend one year on the chart.
After its arrival on the billboard charts in October 2020, ‘Made in Lagos’ has spent 4 weeks at no 1.
This is the longest time a Nigerian artiste has stayed at the no 1 spot.
Prior to this time, the only other Nigerian album which was at the top spot was Burna Boy’s ‘Twice as Tall’ which held the spot for one week.
The longest-charting Nigerian albums on the billboard charts are as follows:
