Oyogist.com has learned that a 200 level student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, identified as David Ogbonna has reportedly committed suicide after seeing his last semester results.
It was learnt that the deceased, David Ogbonna, hanged himself in the university’s hostel wardrobe.
However, a source said no one had been allowed to get into the room where the incident took place, noting that the roommates of the deceased were being interrogated for further investigation.
Reacting to this development, the Chief Security Officer of the Institution, Ken Chukwura, said the deceased’s roommates have been invited for further questioning while investigation had commenced.He however called on the students to go about their activities without fear as the situation was under control.
Also confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police command, Ikenga Tochukwu, described it as unfortunate adding that an investigation had commenced.
