Tech Gaint, Samsung has retained its top spot position as the best-selling smartphone in Africa as TECNO and Xiaomi closes gap, Oyogist reports.
According to a recent market analysis, Samsung emerged as the best-selling smartphone in the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region in Q2/3 2021.
The report titled – Counterpoint Research Market Pulse, revealed that the company boosted market spending at the start of the year, which led to a massive debut in Q1.
However, Samsung’s market share noticed a slight decline by 4% points to 16% sales in Q2 due to production disruption in Vietnam following COVID-19.
Samsung captured the largest market share, 16%, to hold the top spot in the region.
TECNO came second position by capturing a market share of 13%.
Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo have all made impressive gains, with the three capturing a combined 23% market share in Q2 2021.
