Oyogist has learned that over 2,000 anti-coup protesters were released a few hours ago from prisons across Myanmar, including local journalists jailed after reporting critically on the junta’s bloody crackdown.
Myanmar has suffered massive protests and a brutal military crackdown since the February coup that ousted Aung San Suu Kyi and her Government.
Earlier today, a total of 2,296 protesters had been released from prisons around the country, the junta’s information team said in a statement.
A journalist, Kay Zon Nway who was among those arrested confirmed her release earlier today.
Oyogist further learnt that There were no foreigners among those released from the prison.
