Oyogist has learned that various Indian medical experts predicted of a possible third wave of the Novel coronavirus outbreak to hit the country by mid-october.
According to these experts, the COVID pandemic will remain a public health threat for at least another year, they predicted.
There would however be a significant increase in the vaccination rate which would provide some protection against a fresh outbreak, they predicted.
India has so far administered 272 million covid vaccine doses, including 50.5 million second doses, the government said on Saturday.
