Billionaire founder of Microsoft Bill Gates and wife, Melinda are heading for a divorce after 27-years of marriage, OYOGist.com has gathered.
In a statement the couple released on Twitter today, the couple wrote:
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.”
Their statement continued:
“Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.
“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives.
“We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”
Bill and Melinda met each other in the late 1989s when Melinda joined Microsoft as an employee. Both of them have three children among each other.
Bill and Melinda Gates jointly run the charity organization, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations which focuses on eradication of diseases in children.
Currently, Bill Gates ranks as the fourth richest person on earth with a net worth of $142 billion.
