Derek Chauvin was convicted on all counts in the killing of George Floyd, a Black man whose death last May in police custody was captured on video that went viral and set off a summer of unrest over law enforcement’s treatment of people of color.
Ahead of the verdict, tempers were running hot outside the Hennepin County Government Center as the crowd swelled into the hundreds.
The names of the jurors were kept secret to protect their privacy in a high-profile and divisive trial. They were sequestered in a hotel away from their families while they debated the verdict.
In a video made available to oyogist.com, the judge read the guilty verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial.
