American R&B singer, The Weeknd has to donated the sum of $1m (£700,000) to victims of Tigray Conflict in Ethiopia.
The weekend, is the son of an Ethiopian immigrant.
“My heart breaks for my people of Ethiopia as innocent civilians ranging from small children to the elderly are being senselessly murdered,” he said.
The Weeknd further disclosed on his official Twitter handle that his $1m donation would go to the UN’s World Food Programme to pay for two million meals.
