Nigeria will get 56 million COVID19 vaccine this year, 16 million of it for free

Oyogist.com has learned that the special adviser to President Buhari on Digital and new media, Tolu Ogunlesi has revealed that out of the initial 56 Million vaccines meant to be distributed in Nigeria this year, 16 million of the vaccines would be free.

He shared this in a post on his official Twitter handle while Futher explaining that “Nobody is safe until/unless everyone is safe.”

Recall the Nigerian Government had just received nearly 4 million of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, shipped by the covaxFacility, a partnership between CEPI, Gavi, UNICEF and WHO.

“The UN Country Team in Nigeria reiterates its commitment to support the vaccination campaign in Nigeria and help contain the spread of the virus,” said Edward Kallon, UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria.
