The former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader, All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has annouced the donation of N50 million naira to victims of the Katsina market fire, OYOGist.com repors.
The fire accident that took place in Katsina Central Market on Monday destroyed several properties worth millions.
The former Lagos Governor paid a visit to Katsina State governor, Governor Aminu Masari, to “condole” with the Governor and the people of the state over the fire incident. There, he pledged the hefty sum and called for unity among tribes in Nigeria.
The media and many Nigerians have condemned the donation, as the APC leader has not been reported in the news to have made any such gesture towards victims of incidents in the south. Many have labeled the gift a ploy to buy sympathy from the North towards his future Presidential ambition.

While commiserating with the victims of the Katsina Market Fire, Tinubu urged them to continue with their business activities as life must go on.
The fire accident was blamed on explosion gas cylinders that from one of the shops in the market.
