Oyogist.com has learnt that Nigeria has noted a significant increase in its number of unemployed people as the country ranks second in the list.
Nigeria had an unemployment rate at 27.1 percent as of Q2 2020 which then increased to 33.3 percent in Q4, the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported.
Accordingg to the data released by NBS, Imo State had the highest rate of unemployment in the country with 56.6 percent, followed by Adamawa with 54.89 percent.
“Combining both unemployment and underemployment, the state that recorded the highest rate was Imo with 82.5% followed by Jigawa with 80%. Ogun and Sokoto states recorded the lowest of the combined rates, 26.2% and 33.7% respectively.” It said.
