Oyogist.com has learnt that the United States of America has shown interest in helping Nigeria curb the rise in insecurity especially the mass abduction of schoolchildren going on in the Northern part of the country.
This was revealed by the U.S. Bureau of African Affairs during a press briefing on Thursday, as it spoke on the US decision to combat terrorism in Africa.
The agency further pledged via its official twitter handle, @ US Africa Media, to help Nigeria combat the menace of school kidnapping if the Federal Government asks them to do so.
“We are disgusted with the mass kidnapping of school children in Nigeria. The U.S. is ready to provide the appropriate support to the Nigerian government if requested to do so,” Micheal Gonzales, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of African Affairs, told participants at the briefing.
