One of the leading voices of the #EndSARS protests, Rinu Oduola Majekodunmi popularly known as Savvy Rinu, has announced her decision to sue the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Rinu revealed that the CBN accused her of money laundering and terrorism and yet conducted no investigations for three months.
OYOGist.com recalls that the CBN secured an ex perte order to freeze the bank accounts of twenty leading #EndSARS protesters in November 2020.
Prominent among the affected protesters was Temitope, a university student who lent her voice to the call for an end to police brutality in the country.

Rinu alleged that the CBN brought trumped up charges of money laundering and terrorism against her to secure the court order that allowed them to freeze her accounts. And three months after, no investigations have been carried out concerning any of those allegations.
”It’s time to sue CBN for the unlawful freeze of my accounts,” Temitope announced on Twitter this Wednesday (today).
“I was accused of money laundering and terrorism but no investigations were done in the past 3 months. This was purely an act of intimidation!
“I have informed my lawyers, Falana and Falana Chambers and will be suing!” Rinu shared on Twitter.
