According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Federal Executive Council have reportedly approved a harmonised retirement age of 65 years for the Nigerian Teachers bill, 2021.
The bill which includes other recommendations to the presidency is going to see a new change from 60 years to 65 years retirement age for the teachers along with a 40 years of service change.
The final deliberation and federal government approval of the bill was made in a meeting of the FEC council presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The bill which includes other highlights such as bursary awards, special rural posting allowances, and other measures so as to attract the best brains to the teaching profession in the country, is now set to be sent to the National Assembly with the Federal Government’s approval.
