According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command, Lagos, has reportedly gotten a new Commissioner of Police, in person of Mr. Abubarka Umar Bature.
This was made known by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joseph Alabi, while speaking to newsmen on Monday, stating that the new Commissioner of Police had assumed duty following his deployment to the port.
The new police commissioner was deployed as a replacement for the former MMIA police commissioner, Ndatsu Mohammed, who has now been redeployed as the new commissioner of Police in Enugu state.
“The new police commissioner who arrived on Sunday, Jan. 17 at the command’s headquarters, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, was received by officers at the command.
“Bature has served in so many commands such as Deputy Commissioner (DC), Operations, Gombe State, Deputy Commissioner, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Ibadan, Deputy Commissioner, Administration, Plateau.
“Bature was promoted as commissioner of police and was transferred to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport ommand to oversee all the airports in Nigeria.” (NAN)
