According to report reaching oyogist.com, unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped some travelers at Omo-Ijesa, Oriade LGA of Osun state.
The travelers were said to have been abducted on their way while coming back from a trip outside the state.
Confirming the kidnap report, Amotekun Corps Commandant, General Bashir Adewunmi (rtd), noted that the men of Operation Amotekun have been deployed to the surrounding forest areas to ensure the quick rescue of the kidnapped travelers.
“It is true that some people were abducted at Omo-Ijesa, we were yet to know their numbers yet, but we have deployed our personnel to the scene for a search and rescue mission.
Confirming the report also, the Osun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, also said that the police have taken a urgent action as men of the Nigerian police force have been deployed to rescue the abducted travelers.
“We got information of the abduction of some people at Omo-Ijesa late on Sunday and police have been on the trail of the kidnappers.
“As I am speaking with you the police has also deployed police men and men from his Anti-kidnapping units to rescue the abductees and arrest the kidnappers.”
