Divine Arong, the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State on Presidency and National Assembly Matters, has resigned.
She resigned her appointment during a letter addressed to the governor through the office of the Secretary to the government , Tina Agbor.
The resignation letter dated December 29, 2020 and made available to journalists in Calabar on Tuesday, is titled ‘Letter of resignation as Special Adviser to the governor of Cross River State on Presidency and National Assembly Matters’.
The letter read partially , “I hereby tender my resignation as Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Presidency and National Assembly Matters from today, the 29th day of December 2020. the rationale to resign from my position is personal.”
Although no official reasons got for her resignation, sources on the brink of her revealed that it might be connected with the result of some litigations between Ayade’s faction and Jarigbe Agom’s group within the Peoples Democratic Party.
