Oyogist.com has learnt that US lawmakers has urged the Government to sanction any political body proved responsible for the recent human rights violations that sparked Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region.
The Tigray crisis has so far killed thousands and displaced more than 950,000 people, an estimate by the United Nations shows.
“The ongoing fighting in Tigray has already cost thousands of lives and created a humanitarian crisis of disastrous proportions, threatening the long-term stability not only of Ethiopia, but the entire region,” A US senator said during a briefing.
