According to report reaching oyogist.com, former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to speed up the prosecution of armed bandits and Boko Haram/ISWAP members instead of isssuing press statements which condemns their activities.
Former VP Atiku Abubakar, made this known while reacting to the bandit’s attack on the Emir of Kaura Namoda, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Asha, which led to the death Emir’s aides and security details.
Atiku said that the government should be more proactive in taking on battle with the armed insurgents rather than being soft in dealing with them.
“Condemnation of attacks is not enough to reassure citizens who are constantly living in fear.
“The government should speed up the prosecution of terrorists and bandits in order to send a strong message to these outlaws that there are consequences for wilful taking of life.
“The frequency and ease with which the bandits are killing innocent people almost on a daily basis is embarrassing and should be halted lest outlaws are allowed to rule over affairs.
“Atiku commiserates with the families of all those who may have lost a dear one, Emir Muhammad Asha, the Kaura Namoda Emirate Council and the government and people of Zamfara State over the tragedy,” former VP Atiku Abubakar stated.
