According to report reaching oyogist.com, the club chairman of the Warri Wolves FC, Moses Etu, has called out the Nigerian Football Federation NFF, for the NPFL clubs 50% of the Covid-19 palliative sent by FIFA.
Etu made this known while addressing newsmen on Thursday whereby he confirmed the receipt of 2.5 million naira sent to the NPFL clubs by the NFF.
According to a statement made by Etu, he said; “We were paid 50 per cent of the total money, as we were meant to be paid over N5m. We were told last week that 50 per cent will be paid and that was what they sent. When we get to the congress next week, we will ask when the other 50 per cent will come. The NFF told us they were not paid the full money by FIFA.”
“We have received our own and I have informed the sponsors – the government – and I told them that the money is not for them, the money is for the players and management.”
“They said I should go ahead as the CEO of the club. So, I have set up a small committee with the club’s secretary as the chairman, while the head coach, captain, assistant captain and the driver are members. I have told them to share the money and revert back to me. So, between now and Sunday morning, they will revert back to me and I will look at it and approve, if it is okay by me. After then, we will disburse the money. The money will be transferred to their accounts, not cash.”
