Raufu Olaniyan, the deputy governor of Oyo state, has dissociated himself from the 2023 governorship campaign posters purportedly issued on his behalf.
Punch reports he said some political jobbers within the state were bent causing friction between him and therefore the governor of the state, Seyi Makinde.
It was also reported that the campaign posters, bearing inscriptions like ‘Enough is enough,’ with the brand of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were seen in several parts of the state on Tuesday, December 15.
There are speculations that the connection between the governor and his deputy is not any longer cordial but Olaniyan has denied this on several occasions.
He said:
“I signed up for a 48 months contract as Governor Seyi Makinde’s deputy. We aren’t even halfway into that then they’re spreading this speculation like wildfire. Even my belief in God doesn’t allow it.”
