According to reports reaching Oyogist.com, a Chief Judge in the Federal High Court of Nigeria, John Tsoho, on Tuesday, has said the CBN did not freeze accounts of #EndSARS Protesters intentionally, as it’s original plan was to size accounts of corporate bodies under suspicion of money laundering.
Justice Tsoho further claimed that those individuals who claimed the court freezed the accounts of #EndSARS protesters were being unreasonable to the court.
“I assigned those cases and no individual’s name was mentioned,” Judge Tsoho said.
“Three months before the protest, the CBN kept bringing applications, almost in their hundreds, based on what they call deliberate resolve to ruin the economy through money laundering.”
“So if it was the #EndSars people that were involved in the activity under cover, then it is unfortunate for people to begin to call and vilify the court, making damaging allegations against the court,” he added.
Earlier this year, the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefile had gotten an order from the Abuja federal high court to suspend 19 #EndSARS protesters accounts.
