According to reports reaching oyogist.com, the Federal Government has announced the suspension of all SIM cards not linked with a user National Identity Card.
This new update will commence starting from the 30th of December 2020.
This was disclosed by key stakeholders in the Communications industry headed by Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim, the Minister of Communication.
According to a tweet by Bashir Ahmad;
“The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given telecommunications operators (MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile and others) in the country two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN), the Commission has said in a statement.
