The All Progressive Congress, APC, has reportedly slammed the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for calling for the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over the insecurity in the country, oyogist.com reports.
The People’s Democratic Party had earlier in a statement published by it National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, called on the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari along with his cabinet over the economic and insecurity issues plaguing the entire country.
Reacting to the People’s Democratic Party’s call, the All Progressive Congress, APC, has now replied saying the President would not resign over the insecurity in the country while also claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari was doing the best within his capability in curbing the security issues.
According to a statement issued by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, he said; “The NEC condemns in very strong terms, the call by the PDP leadership and some of their cheerleaders for the resignation of Mr. President.”
“NEC observes that security challenges, though regrettable, can only be addressed when all interests, civil and military, governments and opposition, security forces and indeed all citizens, collaborate irrespective of party affiliation. This is not the time to politicise security.”
