According to report reaching oyogist.com, unidentified robbers have reportedly invaded the Akwa Ibom State Government House, carting away an millions of money meant for the payment of state house journalists.
OYOGist.com also learned that the office to the Secretary to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ekerette Udoh, was burgled as the money was kept in his office. It was also learnt that the bag in which the money was kept was emptied as there was no traces of money in the bag.
Reports also has it that, this wasn’t the first time the Akwa Ibom government house press centre is being robbed by unknown burglars who have now turned the evil act to a beneficial occupation as there are no security camera’s located anywhere at the state house centre to help trace the criminals responsible for the robbery.
“This is not the first time the government house press centre is being robbed. We have lost about three Plasma Televisions, one at the reception, one in the reporter’s office and the other in the office used by cameramen. In all of these, no meeting, no replacement,” he said.
It should be noted that as at the time of filing this report, various investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the truth behind the robbery.
