According to report reaching oyogist.com, the family of the 31 years old slain driver, Bright Mark, who was killed by a trigger happy police officer has now demanded for a sum of N100 million naira in compensation from the Nigerian Police Force.
The family of the deceased driver has also demanded for the immediate prosecution of the police officer who allegedly shot Mr. Bright. The family of Mr. Bright described the deceased as it breadwinner.
“We want justice; justice in the sense that the Police officer who killed our brother and breadwinner should be brought to book. When the former Commissioner of Police, Zaki, visited our family, he promised to bring the trigger-happy policeman to book.
“But, nothing has happened till date. We also want financial compensation to the tune of N100 million because Bright was the family’s breadwinner. Today, his wife who was only four months pregnant when he was killed, his daughter, and our mother, are languishing in hunger in the village.”
Bright Mark was reportedly killed by the trigger happy police officer at the Rumuokoro Roundabout in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State after a mere argument.
