This was made known in a statement released by the spokesman of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Mukaila Sanusi who stated that the Commissioner, Dr. Idris Salako made the announcement during a state meeting in Alausa.
The commissioner was said to have expressed worries over the illegal operation of Tank Farms in the state operating without the government’s approval. He stated that the illegal tank farms have negatively affected some residents of the state.
“In most cases, the road capacity is inadequate for the activities of the Tank Farms whose operations have led to the collapse of road infrastructure, rendered critical social amenities such as schools and hospitals inaccessible, and created urban squalors of the host communities,” he said.
The commissioner made it known that most of the Tank Farm operators in the state were operating illegally without paying tax to the state government. He also stated that the enforcement of the extant Physical Planning laws on all erring Tank Farms in the state would commence as from next week.
