Delta Airlines has announced its intention to block the middle seat departing flights now through March 30, 2021.
An email statement to our correspondent by a public relations firm, Topcom, representing the airline, announced the decision on Thursday.
The airline is relying on medical advice that block the middle seat to spring 2021 will boost traveler confidence and encourage them to make future travel plans.
Chief Customer Experience Officer carrier, Bill Lentsch, to have said, “Several independent studies have validated the effectiveness of the multi-layered protection Delta CareStandard, such as advanced ventilation and an extensive cleaning regimen, which together significantly reduces the risk of flight associated with the transmission.”
He added, “We realize that some customers are still learning to live with this virus and desire extra space for their peace of mind. We listen and will always take the appropriate steps to ensure our customers have confidence in their journey with us. “
Lentsch stressed that the health and safety of customers and employees remains a top priority.
He explained that Delta CareStandard include protective measures, such as sanitizing every flight, a comprehensive employee COVID test program, and the use of industrial-grade HEPA filter which extracts more than 99.99 percent of particles, including viruses.
