OYOGist.com has learned that the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has assured students of Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu of his readiness fix all the facilities required for its accreditation.
Uzodimma gave the assurance, Tuesday November 2nd when he paid an inspection visit to the teaching hospital.
“Allow me between now and end of December to fix those items, so by January we bring them back. This is supposed to be university teaching hospital, but the current state is unfortunate. Both the handlers and the people have their share of the blame.”
He made it clear that he will not pay a double salary of consolidated salary, CONON for university lecturer and still pay them CONHES as a staff of teaching hospital.
“If you receive consolidated salary as a university lecturer, the highest we can do is pay you allowances for critical services in the hospital. So we cannot pay double salary and the truth of the matter is that I can go to any length and I am not threatened by strike.”
“We must serve the people, we don’t want to serve any individual. If you don’t want to work for us and prefer your private clinic, you go to your private clinic and allow the state owned university teaching hospital to run.”
“We are going to renovate, fix this place and get the accreditation and enable you to graduate within record time,” the governor assured.
