OYOGist.com has learned that the Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have refused to offer a new contract to the Bayern defender David Alaba, due to failure to reach an agreement with the Austrian.
A deadline to reach an agreement with the Austrian was set on the 31 of October, as revealed by Herbert Hainer who is the club president.
David Alaba’s agent has notified that the agreement wasn’t favourable, therefore they had to refuse it, as a result of which negotiations ended. The Centre Back’s contract with the club will expire at the end of the season which will mean the player would be a free agent and able to begin talks with any club from January.
A good number of big teams across Europe have targeted the Austrian, but the most notable is the Italian side Juventus.
The Bayern Munich Club President said that that management presented the best offer any club ever in such a time. Hainer said he told David’s agent in the last meeting that he would need a clear answer by 31 of October, so as to know what is to be done considering how important that position he plays is, but yet get nothing.
He then said that the club sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic reached out to agent, and got the reply with her the agent saying the offer wasn’t satisfying. So we decided ourselves to withdraw the offer totally. Meaning there isn’t any contract renewal offer anymore.
