Liverpool football club are keen on improving their defensive options now that star defender Virgil Van Dijk have suffered a season-ending injury. The Reds are in line to sign a centre-back and are reportedly eyeing a move for Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak, oyogist.com reports.
According to reports from Sport Mediaset via Daily Star, the Merseyside club are looking to pursue a deal for Ozan Kabak as a potential cover for the injured Virgil Van Dijk.
Liverpool manager is aiming for the defender but will have to see out competition from Italian side AC Milan for his signature.
The 20-year-old Turkey International, who joined Schalke 04 from VFB Stuttgart in 2019 is reportedly valued at €30m (£27.1m) by the Bundesliga side.
The young defender had a good 2019/2020 season. He made 28 appearances for the Bundesliga club, scoring three goals.
Ozan Kabak also has four International caps for Turkey this term in the Euro qualification campaign.
