According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Oyo state government has ordered the closure of all schools in Ibadan as a result of the violence going on in the state capital.
This was made known in a statement made available to oyogist.com, the statement reads:
“Seyi Makinde closes school in Ibadan, deploy operation burst to hot spots,….. Says we can’t allow those with ulterior motive to hijack protests, as government unconditionally releases arrested protesters.”
“Governor Seyi Makinde has directed the immediate closure of all schools in Ibadan beginning from Wednesday, 21 October, 2020, in view of the prolonged #EndSARS protests rocking the state capital. The governor, in a state broadcast aired on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), stated that the closure of the schools will be reviewed on Friday, October 23, 2020.”
