According to report reaching OYOGist.com, the Lagos state police command have claimed that protesters in the ongoing end SARS protest in Lagos state shot three policemen during the protest. The state police command made this claim in reaction to an earlier news which claimed that two protesters where killed during a protest in Surulere, Lagos, after the Nigerian police allegedly opened fire on them.
According to the statement made by the Lagos state police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, three policemen were shot by fully armed protesters in Surulere area of the state.
He also claimed that the police command isn’t aware of any protester shot dead by policemen in the state. Adejobi went on and stated that the injured policemen are currently receiving treatment at the intensive care of the Lagos state University Teaching Hospital.
The Lagos state police command also disclosed that the protester stormed a police unit and shot three policemen who were on mufti. He further stated that the injured policemen are members of an anti-kidnapping unit.
The Lagos state police command also alledged that the protesters stormed one of their anti-kidnapping unit and started shooting officers. According to the police statement, the protesters also broke into the police cell before they were finally repelled.
