The Osun State University has threatened to suspend any student that fails to adhere to the social distance rules given by the institution in any of her six campuses, oyogist.com reports.
This was stated in a memo signed by the institution’s Acting Dean, Student Affairs, Dr Ojo Abiona and made available in the institution premises.
The social distance protocols were put in place by the University Management prior to her resumption and towards prevention of the global pandemic virus that got all academic activities in the country paralyzed.
While welcoming the student back on campus, the institution has directed all Sub- Deans (Student Affairs Unit) and Security Officers of various campuses of the institution to ensure strict compliance of the protocols by the students while any student who fails to adhere strictly to the protocol will be suspended.
Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has strictly kicked against the resumption of tertiary institutions in the country prior to failure in meeting her demands by the Federal Government before the pandemic outbreak and turning of deaf ears towards the provision of facilities in all tertiary institutions for prevention of the virus among students and lecturers.
