The Federal Government has ordered the sale of fertilizers to be reduced from N5,500 to N5,000 per bag.
This was made known by the Vice Chairman of the Food Security Council and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, during a brief meeting presided over by the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, yesterday in Abuja.
He said the decision is brought into play due to nomaliasation of production in the commodity since the reopening of Indorama plant in Rivers State.
The council Further stated that the bulk purchase for palliatives Nationwide trigged the increase in prices of foods nationwide. It expressed confidence that the situation would normalise after the harvest season.
