The Action Democratic Party (ADP), in line with the requirements and guildlines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will be conducting its primary election to elect a flag-bearer, for the upcoming Senatorial Election in Lagos East.
According to a statement by the State Chairman of the Party, Barrister Nasir Adewale Bolaji, who spoke to newsmen on Saturday in Lagos, he said the party is fully ready to conduct its primaries, and also well prepared to participate in the election to elect the next Senator for Lagos East Senatorial district.
Recall that, the vacancy became possible, as a result of the death of Senator Bayo Oshinowo, popularly known as Pepperito, who died as a result of COVID19 complication. His party, APC have elected a former CEO of Polaris Bank, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru, at their primaries as flag-bearer. Adewale posited that, ADP have eyes for the best and brightest amongst them all, noting that any candidate that his party ADP will be fielding, won’t have questionable character or integrity problem.
Our aim as a political party is not just to get anyhow or any kind of candidate on the ballot, we take our time painstakingly to screen at the party’s level before it gets to the primaries, so that the public can accept the candidate we are Presenting, Adewale noted.
He told journalists that, the election will take place on Sunday, September 6th, 2020 at 21, Oshikoya Street, off Awolowo Road, Anibaba area, Ota-ona, Ikorodu in Lagos, calling on all Lagosians, especially those within the five local government area of Lagos West to support his party ADP.
