The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has kicked against the Water Resources Bill currently undergoing debate in the National Assembly, oyogist.com reports.
The governor said the bill is not in the interest of the country, he urged distinguished senators and members of the House of Representatives to kick against it also.
Governor Ortom who registered his grievances about the bill on twitter said it is another version of the controversial Ruga and Cattle Colonies that was proposed by Federal Government a few years ago.
He said the National Assembly should toe the path of honour by rejecting the bill just like the 8th National Assembly did.
“I urge our distinguished Senators and House of Reps members to realize that the National Water Resources Bill is not in the interest of the country. It is another version of Ruga and cattle colonies. They should toe the path of honour and reject the bill as the 8th Assembly did.” Governor Ortom said on his Twitter handle.
