Data experts FiveThrityEight as they are called carried out a ranking exercise on football clubs and according to their results, Manchester City ranked above Premier League Champions Liverpool despite City losing out of Champions League and the English premier league, oyogist.com reports.
Manchester City finished 18points behind Liverpool in the just concluded English Premier League which Liverpool took for the first time in 30years.
City, this year only got their hands on the Carabao Cup and yet 538 ranked them top of their global club soccer rankings.
538 ranking was based specifically on ‘Soccer Power Index (SPI) points’, calculated from the teams performance in previous season with their transfer strength (getting data from the transfer market).
Liverpool who are the present Premier League champions rank third with an SPI of 91.1 just below Bayern at (95.2) then City in first position at (95.5).
