The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, has revealed the current status of his company, his major achievement, challenges, and prospects. The Chairman revealed this recently in an exclusive interview with Vanguard Newspaper, oyogist.com reports.

He disclosed that he has been doing well in the automobile industry in Nigeria and has never failed in any business.

He also cleared the general misconceptions that Innoson Motors is assembling plant and not manufacturing company. The boss said the company is 100 percent manufacturing company and that 60 percent of the materials used for manufacturing are gotten from the country. They only import some engines and electrical materials.

Chief Chukwuma said he started with motorcycle business and used 7 years to study automobile production before he began manufacturing of vehicles in Nigeria. Many of his family and friends told him that he shouldn’t have started the business because all those who ventured into it in the past didn’t succeed. He told them that he has never failed in any business in the past.

The manufacturer also said that he will switch to electric vehicle manufacturing if there is a need to do so.

The Chief Executive said weeks after the Nigerian Lawmakers at the National Assembly rejected his vehicles for Toyota Camry cars made in Japan, he got an order worth $4.7 million from Sierra Leone and that other foreign countries are equally patronizing his company.

He also said that President Muhammad Buhari is trying his best to help manufacturing companies in Nigeria by buying from them.

However, he said the major challenge is that most policies formulated by the government have not been implemented.
