Oyo state have allegedly received yet another good news on COVID-19 despite increase in number of cases everyday as two commissioners who tested positive for the novel coronavirus have both tested negative after 46 days, oyogist.com reports.
Both Commissioner for Information, Culture and Orientation, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, and his Public Works and Transport counterpart Prof. Raphael Afonja have tested negative for COVID-19.
Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun confirmed his negative status on Sunday while Prof. Raphael Afonja confirmed his on Monday during an interview on Fresh FM 105.9.
Afonja on Fresh FM: “At some point, I had to reach out to the government clinic,” he said.
“I had taken all these anti-malaria medicine. I needed to be tested for maybe COVID-19. I think I was two weeks into these malaria and typhoid I thought I was treating before the test came back to be positive.”
“The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to that of malaria as well. That’s when I realised I have to keep myself out as soon as possible.”
