The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has condemned severely a comment made by the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje which described him as a failure, says it was just a mere disgraceful and a laughable remark, oyogist.com reports.
It should be recalled that Ganduje, while speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja had portrayed his Edo State counterpart as a terrible failure, added that Obaseki is more of a liability than asset to the People Democratic Party, PDP.
The Kano State Governor who is also the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC National campaign committee for the forthcoming Edo state gubernatorial election stressed further that Obaseki’s failure would influence his party’s victory during the September 19 governorship election.
However, Governor Obaseki reacts through a statement made by his spokesman, Crusoe Osagie that the comment made by Ganduje was disgraceful and laughable, adding that the Edo governor does not stuff dollars in his pocket.
Remember that Ganduje was recently caught on camera allegedly collecting bribe from contractors in his state, but he has since denied the allegation.
Obaseki’s spokesman while responding to the Kano State Governor’s remark, said: “The comment by Governor Ganduje on the performance of Governor Obaseki in office is at best laughable. It is also disgraceful because the APC has apparently misconstrued the meaning of performance.
Osagie stressed further that Ganduje can only condemn Obaseki’s performance after he clear the air about the viral video of him stuffing dollars collected from contractors. He added
“Ganduje is in no position to assess Governor Obaseki or any other governor for that matter because he has a baggage hanging on his neck, which he needs to clear.”
