Two European clubs fight over the signature of highly rated Nigerian goalkeeper

According to report reaching OYOGist.com, two European clubs have started monitoring Nigerian goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe who was recently released by Switzerland championship League side Kriens FC.

The Nigerian goalkeeper was released by Kriens after helping the club to get promotion twice from Switzerland lower league to the Challenge League championship, and he made the total number of 143 appearances for then with 43 cleansheets to his name.

Osigwe was released immediately after Swiss League resumed from Coronavirus Pandemic break, after the club refused to renew his contract.

Switzerland clubs side have now started fighting for the signature of the 26 years old highly rated goalkeeper.

The first club side is Lugano football club, the club president Angelo Renzetti has made it known to the newsmen that they are looking forward to bringing in the experience goalkeeper who was superb during his days at Kriens FC.

Angelo Renzetti revealed this in an interview with LA2 studios that; “We are looking to build a good team for next season. There’s a huge possibility of bringing in Sebastian Osigwe, a fine goalkeeper from Kriens in the Challenge League championship and Joaquin Ardaiz, a Uruguayan from Major League Soccer (MLS). Talks are in an advanced stage and we are hoping to get it through the line.”

Also the second club that have also shown interest in signing the Nigerian goalkeeper is former Switzerland Super League champions FC Thun, the club have confirmed that they’ve already contacted the goalkeeper’s representatives, and they are looking forward to signing him as they are looking forward to gaining promotion to the top League next season.

Sebastian Osigwe has represented Switzerland at the U-15, U-16 and U-18 levels, and he has made it known that he’s desperate to provide competition in the Super Eagles and that has influenced his decision to change clubs.

Sebastian is yet to get an invite to the Super Eagles but played for the Nigerian U-20 side during preparation for the 2013 World Cup in Turkey, and he said he’ll be glad to receive an invitation from Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr any time.
