Former Wolfsburg football club of Germany head coach Bruno Labbadia has made it known that, the decision to sell Super Eagles of Nigeria star Victor Osimhen to Sporting Charleroi two seasons ago was not his decision, but he was forced to do so by the club board of directors, oyogist.com reports.
Osimhen signed for Wolfsburg in 2017 after clocking 18 years old, but he found it difficult to break into the senior team of Wolfsburg, and he was loaned out to Sporting Charleroi of Belgium a season after, where he established himself as one of the best strikers in Belgian league.
The former Nigeria under 17 star was later later signed permanently by Sporting Charleroi for €3 million after his outstanding performance for the club, and he was sold to Lille FC of France immediately for €13 million.
Osimhen was superb in his first season with Lille, as he scored the total number of 18 goals and 8 assists in all competitions, with 13 goals coming from the League, and the 21 years old was sold to Napoli after a year with Lille for the region of €70 million.
Reacting to the newsmen about how Victor Osimhen left the club in 2018, Bruno said the decision to sell Victor was not taken by him, because they agreed to sent him out on loan, but he was later sold to Sporting Charleroi on a permanent deal after his loan deal expired, because he was told that he has no future with the club (Wolfsburg).
In a chat with the newsmen, Bruno Labbadia said;
“ It wasn’t my decision because I was new at the club back then. Collectively we agreed that a loan move will be of help to him but the decision to sell him wasn’t made by me. The club board of directors did.”
Victor Osimhen has started training with Gennaro Gattuso led Napoli ahead of next season, but the youngster is not eligible to play for Napoli this weekend in the UEFA champions league round of 16 return leg because he’s not registered.
