According to report reaching OYOGist.com, China’s Tianwen-1 spacecraft has successfully completed its first orbit in the early hours of Sunday morning, the Chinese National Aeronautics and Space Administration (CNSA) said.
The mission was completed at 7 a.m. Beijing time, after the 3000N engine ran for 20 seconds, and then headed for Mars. The whole system of the device is in good condition.
Prior to the ordeal, the orbiter traveled over 230 hours in space, reaching a distance of 3 million kilometers from Earth.
The program also tested the safety of the 3000N model engine. In the near future, the spacecraft will carry out a number of reconnaissance missions on Mars’ orbit for more than six months, according to a CNSA source.
China launched a space probe on July 23, designed to conduct space exploration, the first phase of a solar mission. The probe is expected to reach Mars by February 2021.
