The newly elected chairman of Real Estate Developers Association Of Nigeria (REDAN), Oyo State chapter, Engr. ( Dr). Taiwo Kadri, GMD, Katawa Group Of company, a real estate developing outfit has revealed his mission in making land and housing affordable to every Nigerians like GSM, oyogist.com reports.
Engineer Kadri who was voted chairman due to his achievements in the property business in the last twelve years as his estates scattered all over Nigeria.
Dr. Kadri said his tenure will witness a lot of changes in the industry as he is going to work with the government to make documentations easily processed to all the members of the association.
Adding that, he has plans to organize seminars for their members and the public on their right on every landed properties acquired.
He however, showed his appreciation to Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde for returning his 76 acres of land which he bought and planned to build estates near toll gate in ibadan in 2013 but was claimed by the immediate former government of Oyo state.
Katawa boss explained that, ”I have started work on the 76 acres of land I bought near toll gate in ibadan in 2013, when I received a letter during the late governor Ajimobi’s tenure that the land was an acquisition land, I was invited to the lands in Oyo, where I defended the proposal and explained that I want to use the land to build an estate which will be sold at affordable rates to people, but the then government rejected my proposal and denied me the land until recently when I met with the present government and tender the same proposal which was accepted and supported”.
Consequently, Katawa boss stated further that he still has more proposals with Oyo government and his dreams is to work together with the government to make housing affordable for all the citizens of the state just like GSM.
Katawa property which was officially established over 10 years ago was the first to start daily collection of 1,000 naira and 2,000 naira for payment of land purchase from prospective house owners in 2014.
His landed properties are located at Atan- Ota, Mowe- Ofada, lkorodu, Ibeju Lekki, Ibadan, Abeokuta and Akure.
