According to reports reaching OYOGist.com now has it that the acting State Security Service (DSS) has arrested the acting Chairman of the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) – Ibrahim owing to an allegations that he possessed four properties that worth Millions of Dollars and that he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party.
The acting Chairman is is currently residing in an apartment rented for N40m at N20m per annum. The financial implications of the accommodation was not paid from the commission’s treasury but by one Umar Mohammed, a retired Airforce boss questionable to the commission who has thereafter been arrested by the secret service.
For putting the residence in classy shape, Magu secured the Federal Capital Development Authority to award a contract to Africa Energy, a company belonging to the same Mohammed who furnished it at the cost of N43million.
Further enquiries revealed that the EFCC boss has used the private jet belonging to same Mohammed for both private and official trips. On one occasion, Magu flew the same private jet along with Mohammed to Maiduguri along with a Bank Managing Director who was being investigated by EFCC under Magu for allegedly stealing funds belonging to Diezani Allison-Madueke, the immediate past minister of petroleum under President Goodluck Jonathan Administration.
Also, investigation also unveiled how the EFCC boss maintained flamboyant lifestyle as he flew Emirate Airline’s first class air travel on 24th June 2016 to Saudi Arabia just to perform lesser Hajj which cost 2.9million after Directive by the president that all public servants must fly economy class.
The EFCC boss is not yet confirmed as the substantive boss and has remained in acting capacity for many years.
