According to report reaching OYOGist.com, former Senator representing Owerri Zone in the 8th Assembly, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy), has reacted to the allegation by the Minister of Niger Delta Commission (NDDC), Godswill Akpabio, labelling the them as lies from the pit of hell. Samdaddy insisted that the allegation, was a calculated slight on his person and image.
Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, while addressing the Press in Abuja yesterday, wondered why Akpabio would scandalize his name over what he knew nothing about. Samdaddy also demanded for apology from Akpabio, warning that without an apology, Akpabio should get ready to meet him in Court.
Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu stated that he left the Senate about 2yrs ago stating that while in the Senate, he was the House Committee Chairman on Ethics and Privileges. Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu stated that he left behind an undisputable clean record, regretting that Akpabio could pour a full bowl of lies on him.
Going further, Samdaddy stated that as a Senator who represented his people, he owed his people an obligation to attract projects to them, further adding that his state, Imo, being an NDDC state and entitled to benefits from the commission, and as such, it was not out of place for NDDC to situate a project in his constituency further adding, that his Community, Ikeduru is the first place oil was discovered.
Samdaddy further pointed out that if NDDC did a project in his constituency, it does not amount to contract scam, because he is not the contractor, and NDDC have their registered contractors, whom they use to execute their projects.
Samdaddy also stated that NDDC does not mobilize contractors, but they paid contractors after the job was done.
Samdaddy further stated that some NDDC contractors who had finished their jobs, were complaining that they were still being owed by NDDC. He expressed his shock when Akpabio mentioned his name, insisting that it was a slap on his face.
Samdaddy warned Akpabio to check his records very well, insisting that nobody gave him any contract because he is not a contractor, neither did he have the capacity to influence anything.
Samdaddy went on to reveal, that NDDC had abandoned some of the contracts in his constituency, urging them to return to site and complete the projects.
