Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has inaugurated the governing board for the state-owned tertiary institutions. The event held at the governor’s lodge, Agodi, Ibadan had in attendance top government officials, the town and the gown, oyogist.com reports.
The Governor, while inaugurating the governing board for the state-owned tertiary institutions, explained that his administration would not renege in its responsibility to the tertiary institutions particularly with payment of 100% subvention but tasked the governing board on ensuring quality assurance, efficient system management as well as other institutional changes, adding that his administration was still committed to taking full ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
Responding on behalf of others, chairman of governing board, college of education, Lanlate, Dr. Bisi Ojebola assured that the board would work in accordance with the mandate given to them and engender needed educational transformation in the state.
The chairmen of the governing councils of the state-owned tertiary institutions inaugurated include Dr. Ogundiran Samuel – The Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa; Prof. Mathew Odedokun – Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo; Professor Sunday Ajayi Adesola – Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, amongst others.
